Cognitive dissonance and fear are about to carry many many people in the upcoming days, months, and even longer. Some will be carried to do things they absolutely hate to people whom they love. Our National Guard is currently standing guard to protect a man who, with stolen uniparty control, may very well aid in further shutting down our voices, our protests, our media, and our churches. A man who will act directly against our constitution in every way.  Wasn’t it the Trump supporters who were going to serve a man over the United States Constitution? Huh.

     When one requires cover while working against his enemy, he is subtle, slow, and moderate in his attacks.  Hence the slow boil of America during the subversion period we experienced over the last 60 plus years. Now that the mask is entirely off, why should we believe that the powers that be are going to do anything but blitzkrieg anyone who stands for freedom, justice, America, goodness, Western Civilization, or the laws of God? What army lets up when the enemy is so divided, demoralized, and powerless?

     With chatter about a new strain of Covid taking hundreds of lives in California, I see an easy opportunity for the powers that be to lock the country back down, only more extremely than the first time. Considering the shut down measures we have witnessed in Victoria, Ireland, and Melborne, it is reasonable to entertain the possibility that travel restrictions and containment camps are on the table.

     If today is the powder-keg that many fear it is (I write on January 20th, 12:30am), then we really ought to take seriously that our rights will continue to be targeted with a proverbial death-star-esque high energy weapon once the day is over.  Corrupt people expect you to psychologically tell yourself that nothing has really changed that significantly.  I’m here to say that you do not need to tell yourself that in order to get through the times that are to come.  Do not cling to false hope.  Your hope should not be in the physical powers of this world, just as was the case before.  Even more so now, you must understand that there is hope to be had, but it is squarely in the victory won on Calvary and the victory to come.

     We live a “best of times, worst of times” paradox right now. Yes, the future is terrifying. But remember that God selected you to live these times for a reason. BE PROUD OF THAT. Embrace it. Find and exercise the new opportunities for evangelization that now exist because of where we are now. As an amount of grace becomes available far beyond anything you could have ever imagined, open yourself as wide as possible to it all. You can get through this, and you are going to hold the line.

     How will you do it? First, on the physical order of things: get plenty of rest, nutritious food, and keep in healthy habits.  If a national lockdown is put in place again, you have a chance to go into it as a lockdown veteran this time. Doing the things I just mentioned will help you stay sane. If you lose too much sleep, routine and proper nutrition, you will lose your mind. Temperately allow yourself comforts to go with your insistence upon living a disciplined life.

     Second, you are going to have to depend upon spiritual consolation more than ever as you go forward. As the right handed man must learn to use his less familiar left while nursing a broken arm, we must be resigned that our natural solutions to our problems will not apply here.  Your rosary, the sacraments, litanies, Holy Scripture, and the like are your weapons.  Use them to lead and to guide your family. Hold the line, man.

    On our new prospects, head of the Lepanto Institute, Michael Hitchborn, recently had this to say:

“We are surrounded on all sides by a vicious enemy who seeks to murder innocence, destroy faith, and pervert Truth. From a purely human standpoint, the powers of darkness have obtained complete control over the world and the Church, and are poised to annihilate Christianity altogether.

But this is right where Our Lady wants the enemy to be. Why? Because with all institutions apparently conquered, there is now no human way to achieve Victory, which means that the Victory to come will be universally recognized as Hers. As she promised, ‘In the end, MY Immaculate Heart will triumph.’

Our Lady has not abandoned us, but drawn all Her children together so that we can have front row seats to the glory of Her Victory, in whatever form it may come.”

     There is an eternal reward at the end of all of this.  These jokers will fail, albeit after much persecution is felt by good people.  But in the end,  her immaculate heart will triumph.  Keep up joy, keep the faith, and keep up hope in all things eternal.
